An automatic weather station is a device capable of automatically observing and storing meteorological data, mainly composed of sensors, collectors, communication interfaces, and system power supplies. With the advancement of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data, and cloud computing, automatic weather stations are also evolving towards intelligence, networking, and digitization. Their applications are becoming increasingly widespread, providing vital support for meteorological observation, weather forecasting, and disaster defense.
Working Principle: The automatic weather station monitors various meteorological elements (wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, rainfall, radiation, sunshine, etc.) through built-in sensors. The data collected by the sensors is processed by the collector for linearization and quantification, converting it into usable meteorological element values. The processed data is screened to ensure accuracy and validity, stored in the internal memory, and transmitted to the relevant platform via wireless communication for further analysis and use.
For the automatic weather station to efficiently process meteorological elements and achieve automation, precision, and comprehensive intelligent judgment, it is necessary to upgrade the technology at every stage of data collection, processing, analysis, and application in practical use. Better hardware is required to support this. The Qiyang IAC-IMX8MP-CM core board is recommended, which is based on the NXP i.MX8M Plus high-performance processor. It features strong processing capabilities, high integration, low power consumption, and high stability, meeting the application needs of the automatic weather station.
Based on the NXP IMX8MPlus processor, with a quad-core Cortex A55, a clock speed of up to 1.6GHz, it achieves efficient processing of collected meteorological data, ensuring real-time monitoring and updates of meteorological data. At the same time, it integrates a 2.3TOPS NPU, supporting AI data analysis, providing intelligent decision-making, such as weather warnings, agricultural advice, etc.
It supports two Gigabit Ethernet ports, 5G, and an onboard WiFi module, meeting the needs of wired/wireless network communication, supporting the rapid upload of data to the cloud for analysis, and also enabling remote real-time monitoring. Operators can check the status of the equipment and data at any time, adjusting and maintaining in a timely manner.
The board has onboard LPDDR4 2GB memory, supporting up to 32GB EMMC and one TF interface for further expansion of storage capacity. Sufficient memory and storage space ensure the system efficiently saves real-time meteorological data collected by the automatic weather station.
It supports multiple display interfaces (MIPI-DSI, LVDS, HDMI) and various peripheral interfaces such as USB, MIPI CSI, CAN, I2C, etc., enabling the visualization of meteorological data on the device. The weather station can connect to sensors and other external devices according to different needs.
